The Old City evokes the essence of a place from long ago; another time, another land.
 
Although originally written for violin and piano, The Old City has been arranged for string orchestra by the composer, Karen Kyriakou. The melody is shared across the different instruments, with harmonies at times sparse, and other times countermelodies add a more complex texture.
