Workshop Sessions with Students
A Piece in a Day
Work with composer Karen Kyriakou to create a new work with your ensemble. Karen facilitates the creative process, but the students make the material. She stitches it all together to make an authentic class-led composition that students will be proud of.
This activity works well in school camps and term 4 post-concert sessions!
(Minimum time for this workshop is 90 minutes).

The Inclusive Music Class
Teachers are required to navigate diverse student needs in their classrooms and music lessons. Although teachers nearly always support such environments, they often feel under-prepared to navigate the complexities of the highly stimulating music-classroom. Karen Kyriakou has been working as a music teacher in Special Schools for the past 11 years. She has built up quite a toolbox of skills to share with teachers who require support and understanding of how to better manage the learning and teaching environment. Explore ways to make sure every child in the school is engaged, included, and authentically participating in your music program.
