Inclusive Teaching & Learning
For Classroom and Instrumental Teachers.
For Classroom and Instrumental Teachers.
Teachers are required to navigate diverse student needs in their classrooms and music lessons. Although teachers nearly always support such environments, they often feel under-prepared to navigate the complexities of the highly stimulating (and noisy) music-classroom.
Karen Kyriakou has been working as a music teacher in Special Schools for the past 11 years. She has built up a toolbox of skills to share with teachers who wish to better manage their learning and teaching environment.
Explore new and proven ways to make sure every child in the school is engaged, included, and authentically participating in your music program.
Instrumental & Studio Teachers
We have sessions especially for you!
The Introductory Session and the Deeper Dive session will help teachers develop the different approaches required when teaching students of diverse abilities how to play instruments.
Changing the way we ask questions and present information can be the difference of keeping a child engage or having them give up, thinking music is not for them. Slight tweaks in our approaches can give students the gift of music for life- and we need to do this for all students!
Teachers can develop their confidence setting realistic expectations about what can be achieved in both the short and long term for students, and take away ideas for adapting your studio and instrumental lessons to suit the learner - making the music lesson a more enjoyable space for everyone!
