Session Summary:
Connect & Engage. Inclusive activities for the string class and ensemble.

The implementation of activities away from printed music in the instrumental music class and ensemble can increase students enjoyment and engagement while supporting diverse abilities in the class.
Advantages to implementing aural-based activities in the instrumental class and ensemble are many;

Such activities also encourage students to develop compositional and improvisational skills, and also offer ‘brain-break’ opportunities.
Activities in this session will all be aural-based, and will encompass elements of composing, arranging, improvisation, technical work and ensemble skills. Activities encourage students to problem solve and reflect, enhancing engagement and deeper learning.
